Higher Education students from FutureSkills 3 and the Apprenticeship Programme celebrated their graduation in a stunning ceremony at the FutureSkills campus. These annual ceremonies bring together all of our graduating students to recognise the years of hard work that brought everyone to this stage, and the evening was certainly a night to be remembered for all involved. This night marked the next step in our students’ professional journeys, with an inspiring ceremony celebrating the exciting new directions they were all taking.

The ceremony itself was opened with remarks from the FutureSkills Centre Principal, Catherine Davies, congratulating the students on their hard work and reflecting on all they done to reach this stage. A stunning performance by the Pendleton Sixth Form Community Choir then followed, formed in 2006 to give students the opportunity to perform a range of genres in front of live audiences.

Catherine then introduced Councillor Hannah Robinson-Smith, the events Guest Speaker. The Councillor was herself a graduate of Salford University, and achieved a range of qualifications in education. She has always been a champion of social justice and community service. Hannah reflected on her lifelong commitment to learning and supporting young people and adults in the community in gaining qualifications and growing their skills.

The presentation of awards then followed. Everyone in attendance was inspired to see so many proud faces among the graduates and attending family and friends. The event celebrated the success not just of the graduates, but of Salford City College’s Apprenticeship Programme and the incredible partnerships that have been created with local and national employers.

Graduates take forward with them not just qualifications, but the experiences, connections, and bonds they have built over their studies. We know that all students are well equipped to make a major impact in their chosen careers.

Congratulations to all graduates for everything they have achieved over the years.
