Please ensure that you bring the following with you to your enrolment appointment:

  • Your GCSEs and any other exam results: These are important if you are to enrol on the right course. If you do not have them with you, you may have to collect them and then return to college to complete your enrolment.
  • Your Passport or Birth Certificate, together with your National Insurance Number (if you have this information).
  • Your Parent/Guardian’s contact information: It is important that we receive this contact information so that your parent/guardian can access our ParentPortal (you will receive our parent/guardian information form via post).

We offer a range of courses at all levels and in a wide variety of subjects.

We are confident that we have the course that is right for you. If you do not get the GCSE grades that you were hoping for, please do not worry, there will be staff and members of the College Careers Team who will be able to give you advice and guidance about all of the courses available and discuss your options with you.

At Salford City College Group, we provide excellent learning opportunities delivered in our outstanding, industry-standard facilities. Our teachers are experts in their subject areas and are committed to supporting you during your valuable time at our College.

If you have received additional learning support at school, there will also be the opportunity for you to meet with our Additional Learning Support Team at enrolment to discuss how we can continue to support you at college.

As a Salford City College Group student, you are at the heart of everything we do. Our simple ambition is that you are happy and fulfilled while achieving your aspirations during your valuable time with us. You will receive a further email with information on how to access your timetable and other essential information.

Our maths and English courses may require you to take an initial assessment; if you have not yet done this, this will take place during enrolment. Please allow up to two hours for this process.

Please bring the following with you to your enrolment appointment:

  • Identification (e.g. Passport, Birth Certificate)
  • Method of payment (if you are paying for the course yourself)
  • Proof of any benefits that you receive
  • Passport and National Insurance Number (if you are applying for the Advanced Learner Loan)
  • Certificates of any qualifications you already have

 

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Advanced Learner Loans

The Advanced Learner Loan is for those studying on a Level 3 or higher qualification. If you are paying for your course via an Advanced Learner Loan, please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that your student loan is in place. If you have already applied for your Advanced Learner Loan please bring your ‘notification of entitlement’ letter to enrolment. If you have not yet received this notification, you must provide evidence that you have fully completed the application process.

Student Financial Support

You may also be eligible for financial support from one of the following three funds:

  • 19+ Bursary This bursary is for students aged 19 and over who struggle financially with the cost of attending college. If the student’s household income
  • 19+ Childcare Funding Childcare funding is available for students aged 20 and over who are studying on a full-time course and have a household income of less than £30,000 before tax. The maximum paid is £50.00 for a full day and £25.00 for a half day.
  • Advanced Learner Loan Bursary This bursary is for students who have taken out an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for their course. Payment is based on 100% attendance on College premises. Depending on their household income the student will be eligible for £10.00-£60.00 per week.
