Students, staff, and families in the area got into the festive spirit in wonderful style at this year’s Winter Wonderland, hosted at Eccles Sixth Form College. As we head into the Christmas period, opportunities to bring the community together with magical events like this are a vital part of our role in the area. We were thrilled at the turnout, with families from all over the area joining us for a range of activities, celebrations, and festive snacks, all joined by the furry and feathery friends and helpers from the college animal management department. With festive stalls helpfully staffed by our attendant elves, and the whole college dressed up in Christmas decorations, the college was ready to bring in the festive period with all the stops pulled out. Everything that makes the Christmas period the most wonderful time of year was there to be seen—the Christmas songs both old and new, the presents, and of course the food. The same old Christmas sparkle was to be seen in the eyes of everyone there, both the young and the old. The National Literacy Trust also helped us host a book giveaway at the event, adding the chance for visitors to take home some fantastic books from the event. Everything was capped off by the presence of the big man himself. At Santa’s Grotto, the little ones got their chance to tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Helped by his elves and our friends from the zoo, his presence helped to make the already special event a perfectly festive day out for all the families that were present. A massive thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event possible.
