The Media Make-up industry in the UK is exciting and fast-moving and we are looking to enrol students who are creative, interested in fashion and beauty trends, have an excellent eye for detail and enjoy working with people on our outstanding Media Make-up programme. The course will give you the techniques, knowledge, confidence and employability skills that you will need to embark on a successful career in the performance and media industries whether you are interested in a career in high fashion, the bridal industry, photography, theatre, film or television. Our programmes cover the essentials of client care and consultation, and will also develop your skills in specialist areas such as dressing and styling hair, making and applying prosthetics and applying quality make-up for individual clients and performers in TV, film and theatre. You will also learn the art of photographic make-up, and body art design. Our students will have the opportunity to work in our industry-standard salons using industry standard materials and take part in exciting on-location shoots and performances, and undertake work-based projects with leading industry employers.

Progression

Students can progress with us to study a Foundation Degree in Media Make-up or a HND/C at our University Centre or Hair & Beauty Apprenticeship with Apprenticeships at Salford City College.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Vocational Courses: For Level 1 Vocational Courses, Students are required to have grade 1s/2s at GCSE. Level 2 Vocational Courses: For Level 2 Vocational Courses, students are required to have a minimum of four grade 3s at GCSE. Level 3 Vocational Courses: Students are required to have progressed from the Level 2 course and have GCSE English or Maths at grade 4. Additional Information: For Level 2 Vocational Courses, we will consider 2 BTECs, ideally one to be in a related subject.
