Outline
All students will be taught by well qualified and experienced teachers who are experts in their fields. Lessons take place in our £1m refurbished laboratories and classrooms in our Centre of Excellence for STEM. They are guided to become independent students who are capable of producing high-quality work through research, revision and extra support.
Assessment
Students are assessed in a highly scientific business context and trained to present and research their work to show strong competency in scientific written skills and in mathematics. The course is graded by internal assessment in both years. Mandatory units consist of an even split between all three sciences and mathematics. Curriculum will be a mix of classroom learning and practical tasks.
Entry Requirements
Students will need a minimum of three grade 4s and three grade 5s at GCSE including a grade 4 in English. They must also have at least two grade 5s from a selection of Maths, Combined Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology, with the rest of these subjects at grade 4.Additional Information: We will consider 1 Vocational qualification in place of a GCSE as long as a grade 4 is achieved in English.
