Headline Eccles beaten with late goals

Eccles 2nd team put up a spirited fight against a well organised Burnley team, with Burnley scoring two late goals. Eccles got off to the perfect start against Burnley, when they took a early lead through Tom Park, who scored from close range after a early corner. Burnley responded straight away when they also scored after a goal mouth scramble from a corner. Eccles were giving away to many free kicks in wide areas, which was dangerous against Burnley who had five players well over six foot !!  .Both teams were trying to play through midfield and use the ball well, which was good to see. The game ended 1-1 at half time, with nothing to split the teams. Burnley were gifted a goal early in the second half, when Eccles gave the ball away in a dangerous area, and the Burnley striker slotted home. Eccles should  have scored straight away when Evan missed a glorious chance from 6 yards. On 75 minutes Burnley used there big height advantage when they scored there third goal from another corner. The third goal seemed to deflate the Eccles players, and within a minute there striker got his second goal of the game. Eccles to there credit still kept going forward, but they could not breach the Burnley defence.
