Build Salford COVID-19 Update

Due to recent college closure in line with government guidance, the Build Salford 2020 Traineeship will unfortunately not be going ahead as planned. This is to best protect the welfare of our applicants, staff and employer partners, which has been outlined as critical by the government.

If you have applied for this year’s traineeship, we are still here to support you. Please contact us on with any queries you have regarding your application, the traineeship and any further support you may need.

This includes those who are former trainees, whose employment has been affected or may be at risk due to the current situation.

If you are an employer who has the capacity to support or place former Build Salford trainees who have lost their job, or whose employment is at risk, please email to discuss with us further. We would urge you to do this as soon as possible to help those who may have been displaced due to the current crisis.

We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

 The Build Salford Team

Build Salford is a unique traineeship programme for 16-24 year olds to get involved in if they are seeking the gateway to an apprenticeship with some of the best, local construction companies. The programme has over 20 dedicated industry partners who all have one thing in mind, to create as many opportunities as possible for young people looking to kick start their career in the construction sector.

The traineeship programme consists of a ‘getting site ready’ phase of 3 weeks, including site visits, trade taster sessions and the planning of a customised work placement. This is followed by a 7-week work placement, during which there is support for applications to an apprenticeship.
