Success for Salford City College Student at WorldSkills UK Finals
Salford City College is excited to share the achievements of Norah Nwikonzor from Worsley College.
Thirty-two students won gold, silver, and bronze at this year's WorldSkills UK national foundation skills finals. The contests covered eight skill areas across Greater Manchester, featuring students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) from all over the UK.
The medal winners were announced on November 17th at a ceremony hosted by The Manchester College. One of our students, Norah Nwikonzor from Worsley College, brilliantly scored Bronze in the Foundation Skills: Hairdressing category.
Marion Plant, Chair of WorldSkills UK, and Principal/Chief Executive of North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, stressed the importance of the competition in including students at all learning levels, including those facing challenges and said "The foundation skills competition is so important because it’s widening participation and encouraging students at all levels of learning and those who have particular challenges to benefit from participating.”
Congratulations to Norah Nwikonzor for her outstanding achievement! Her success reflects the diverse talents within our student community at Salford City College.
