Outline
You will study modules which make effective links between your professional practice and educational theory. These allow you to explore current educational issues such as planning effective and engaging lessons, classroom management and health and wellbeing. Most importantly you will have to show that you can be effective as an educational practitioner and you will be expected to demonstrate this through an appropriate professional teaching placement.
Progression
Once completed teachers may be eligible to complete Professional Formation leading to QTLS which allows them to teach in schools as well as in the post compulsory sector.Many of our former teacher trainees have secured employment within the College having made such strong progress during their training year but others have gained employment in a wide range of teaching and training providers. These have included• Sixth form colleges• Academies/free schools• Universities• Work based training providers • Prison and probation services. • Pupil referral units ( PRU)• Community adult education service• Charities• Private training organisationsEntry Requirements
A degree or degree equivalent (Level 6) qualification in a relevant subject (linked to intended teaching practice) Applicants will be required to complete a DBS enhanced disclosure clearance
