You will study a wide range of units that will expand your understanding of delivering basic treatments to animals. Additionally, you will investigate animal accommodation, infection control, animal nutrition, and animal anatomy and physiology. You will also gain work experience in the veterinary industry, which allows you to put your skills into practice. All students complete work experience as part of their course:Level 2: 150 Hours External Placement
ProgressionAfter completing your course, you will be well prepared for the next step in your further education academic journey - there is a wide range of progression opportunities across and upwards throughout our courses within animal studies, equine studies, and veterinary nursing. This course could allow you to apply for a place on our Level 3 Veterinary Nursing Elite Course or you could choose to enter the industry as a veterinary nursing assistant.
Level 2 Vocational Courses: Students are required to have a minimum of four grade 3s at GCSE. Additional Information: For Level 2 Vocational Courses, we will consider 2 BTECs, ideally one to be in a related subject. If you are concerned that you may not meet the entry requirements for this course, take a look at the range of Level 1 courses on offer within animal studies and equine studies which can lead to your progression onto this course.
