You will undertake module subjects such as:• Understand schools and colleges as organisations Knowledge • Understand children and young people’s development Knowledge • Safeguarding children and young people Knowledge • Support the health and safety of children and young people Knowledge/ Skills• Support positive behaviour in a learning environment for children and young people Knowledge/ Skills The module contents cover a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development for differing life stages, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships building. You will also have the opportunity to work in a team to develop a positive learning display and childcare environment as well have access to employer engagement.

Teaching Assistant -supporting teachers in lessons, helping pupils understand tasks and providing one-to-one or small group support Classroom Support Worker – assisting with behaviour, learning activities, and classroom organisationLearning Support Assistant (LSA) – helping children who need extra support to access the curriculumSpecial Educational Needs (SEN) Assistant – supporting pupils with additional needs such as autism or learning difficultiesLunchtime Supervisor / Playtime Assistant – supporting children’s wellbeing and behaviour during breaks

Assessment

Each module will have an assignment that will clearly show the tasks and the structure/ method you will need to produce to meet the specific criteria.Assessment dates will allow the allocation for assignments to be submitted in a timescale. You will be assessed by a range of practical activities such as presentation delivery and role play as well as timed assessments and written assignment work where leaflets, reports or information booklets will be included.
