Visual Effects and Animation Diploma Level 3

Outline

This practical 2-year course which is built around portfolio development and industry informed projects, allows learners to grow their technical ability and creative confidence from day one. You’ll explore a broad range of disciplines within the world of VFX and animation, including: Filming, Editing and Photography skills, Green screen production and virtual environments, Visual effects transitions and motion graphics , SFX,prosthetic and character design , Stop motion and 2D animation techniques, Team-based projects and portfolio building.All training takes place in professional environments using industry-standard equipment and software, including iPads, the full Adobe Creative Suite, motion capture suits and fully-equipped television studios.

Assessment

Year 1 – Skill Building and Exploration In your first year, you’ll develop a strong foundation in visual storytelling and technical application. Through hands-on projects, you’ll gain confidence using digital tools, applying SFX and prosthetics, and crafting compelling animated content. As the year progresses, you’ll identify your passion and specialise in an area of interest, preparing you for more focused work in your second year.?? Year 2 – Industry Focus and Professional Growth Your second year is all about the future. You’ll work on building your professional portfolio and personal media profile, gaining insight into the creative industries and preparing for employment or further study. The year culminates in a collaborative group production project—a showcase of your technical skills, creativity, and teamwork developed throughout the course.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements – 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above. – Either Maths or English at Grade 4
