Level 3 Media & Journalism Exhibition at Salford Lads & Girls Club
Our Level 3 Media & Journalism students proudly showcased their creative work at our end-of-year exhibition at the iconic Salford Lads & Girls Club.
The exhibition celebrated their hard work, creativity and development throughout the year, featuring an exciting range of projects and outcomes from across the department.
The exhibition highlighted the breadth of talent and skills developed by our students, with work including podcasts, documentaries, photography and photojournalism, magazines and print media, music videos and short films. Each project demonstrated the students’ creativity, ambition and ability to develop ideas from concept through to a professional final outcome as part of their Final Major Projects.
It was fantastic to see the high standard of work our students achieved and to celebrate their success alongside them. The historic surroundings of Salford Lads & Girls Club provided an inspiring backdrop, sparking creativity and influencing many of the projects produced.
We’re incredibly proud of what our students achieved and look forward to returning to this iconic venue to host our exhibition again during the new academic year!
Testimonial from Lucinda Burns (L3 Journalism student): "To be able to see my Final Major Project displayed proudly alongside my peers at the Salford Lads and Girls Club was a truly rewarding experience. I loved being able to see all the months of our hard work showcased for loved ones and staff to be able to see, listen or watch. The venue felt really special and the open spaced layout really helped encourage guests to take interest and ask questions surrounding our work. I also really loved how interactive everything was. For example, since I chose to do a podcast for my Final Major Project, there was a sound station so guests could listen to mine and other students podcasts whilst being there, which I thought was a really effective way of presenting our work especially since audio work lacks in visuals compared to a magazine front cover for example. I believe this was executed perfectly well as it shows the students and our guests that all of our work was equally important no matter what medium we chose. Overall, I think our exhibition was really special and made me feel proud of everything accomplished in my first year of college."
We will be holding another exhibition to showcase the work produced by our L3 Media and Journalism students again, at Salford Lads & Girls Club on Thursday 10th June 2027.
