Pendleton Alumni Claim Lead Roles in “Six: The Musical”
Pendleton Sixth Form College is renowned for its Performing Arts department, and our former students keep on proving the reputation is well deserved. Multiple alumni of the Pendleton School of Theatre, including Maiya Quansah-Breed, Yna Montarde, Harriet Caplan-Dean, Gabriella Stylianou, Amelia Atherton and Elizabeth Walker have secured a range of leading roles in the highly successful and popular musical “Six”. Carrying the torch of success which defines the standards of the department, these former students make everyone here at Salford City College Group immensely proud of the achievements of our alumni.
Six, which originally premiered at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe, is a musical comedy which has enjoyed unparalleled success and popularity over the years. This latest run, opening to over 700 cinemas across the country, has broken the record for the highest opening day figure for any musical! Securing a role in a nationwide release of the popular show such as this one represents an enormous challenge for even the most talented performers—and it a testament to the perseverance and skill of our alumni that so many were able to join the cast.
Yna Montarde, former Musical Theatre student

Yna Montarde, a former Musical Theatre Student at Pendleton Sixth Form, plays Anne Boleyn in the production. “My time at Pendleton was probably the best two years of my life,” Yna said. “The teachers were always challenging me and pushing me to my limits.”
Nurturing talent on the level of these students has been our driving force at the School of Theatre. With the right support, we believe that anyone can grow their skills and live the dream in the way that these born performers continue to do. For many of these students, the parts they were cast in for Six represent yet another entry in a continuing list of successes—from the stage to the screen.
We extend the warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to these students and wish them all the best in their future careers.
