13 November 2020

At 11am, on the 11th Day, of the 11th Month 2020, Worsley College remembered with a difference.

The College’s usual annual event would have involved the whole college taking part in a ceremony on Parr Fold Park at the Cenotaph, but due to the recent pandemic this was not possible.

This year’s Remembrance Day was delivered virtually by the Head of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Martin Coughlan. Martin shared an educational PowerPoint with all staff and this was shared with students in the classroom. Following the presentation, a small nominated number of students from the 16-18 study courses, as well as adult students, took part in the socially distanced service outside. This was also shared on the big screens in all classrooms.

At 11am all staff and students stood behind their chairs and took part in a 2minute silence.

Lest we forget.
