College Bus Service
16-18 COLLEGE BUS INFORMATION 2020-2021
We have provided college transport for a number of years. Our College buses drop you off outside (or very near to) the College that you are studying at and collects you from the same point each day. Using the College Bus Service provides you with a safe and direct journey to College with your friends. All of the services are on modern and comfortable coaches and will run every day during term time.
Our College Bus Service is a safe, reliable and quick way for your son/daughter to travel to College. Places are strictly limited, and therefore permits are issued on a first-come-first-served basis. The service costs £20.00 per Term.
As a result of Covid-19, social distancing has significantly reduced public transport capacity nationally. However, government guidance outlines that students on dedicated services do not mix with the general public on these journeys and tend to be consistent. This means that the advice for passengers on public transport to adopt a social distance of two meters from people outside of their household or support bubble, or a ‘one meter plus’ approach where this is still not possible, will not apply on dedicated services from the autumn term.
To ensure the safety of our bus service users, the College has developed a new code of conduct for students using our buses. This code of conduct is mandatory for all service users, and failure to adhere to any of the expectations will result in a bus ticket being suspended/withdrawn.
We expect students to:
- Wear a mask and use the hand sanitiser provided on-board.
- Show their College ID to the bus driver.
- Queue for the bus in an orderly fashion, maintaining a safe distance.
- At collection time – do not congregate. If your bus has arrived, you must immediately embark.
- When embarking on the bus, seat yourself from the back of the bus to the front, and disembark in reverse order.
- Remain seated at all times.
- Maintain an excellent standard of behaviour.
The bus company will:
- Disinfect each bus daily (a Covid-19 safe method).
- Ensure that drivers wear face masks and use the hand sanitser provided.
- Clean touchpoints frequently.
- Undertake temperature checks on passengers.
- Not tolerate improper behaviour (either physical or verbal).
- Expect students to embark and disembark in an orderly fashion.
