COVID-19: Guidance for Higher Education Applicants

In light of the Government’s announcement of school/college closures, and the associated impact on exams, there will be some changes to the way your results are calculated this year and as a consequence this may change the process by which offers of places are managed.

As an offer holder from the University Centre at Salford City College we would like to reassure you that the offer you currently hold with us remains unchanged at this time.  It is our priority to ensure that you are kept fully informed of any changes to the admissions process.  As soon as further decisions are agreed, based on recommendations from the Office for Students, UCAS and other awarding bodies, we will write to you again to confirm the next steps in the process.

Any applicants who still have an outstanding GCSE requirement as a condition of their offer, we will be in touch separately with these students to provide further details in due course. Additionally, for any of students whose offer contains ‘non-academic conditions’ (such as DBS or medical clearance) or conditions based on National or Professional Body requirements, we will contact them if we need to discuss this further.

We remain committed to encouraging students to achieve the best possible outcomes in their Level 3 qualifications so that they enter higher education as well prepared as possible. This letter has been sent to provide assurance to our applicants at what is such an uncertain time.
