COVID-19: Guidance for School Leaver Applicants
The College is still accepting applications for September 2020; however, we are now moving to online applications only. If you have applied recently via a postal application or you have submitted your application via a member of staff at your school, please contact our Admissions Team to ensure your application has been received and is being processed on 0161 631 5050 or at email@example.com.
Since the Secretary of State for Education announced that the 2020 GCSE exams in England would be cancelled to help fight the spread of Coronavirus, the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) have worked at speed to develop a process which fairly recognises students’ work and makes sure you get your grades ready for enrolling at College. More information about this can be found on the Ofqual website.
When GCSE grades are issued, you will be able to work with the College Admissions Team to ensure that you are on the right course, at the right level.
To ensure that you remain up to date with developments over the upcoming months, our Admissions Team has been contacting applicants to ensure that the personal information we have is accurate. If your personal or contact information has changed, please inform our Admissions Team on 0161 631 5050 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have not yet attended an admissions interview for the College or taken part in a telephone interview with a member of our School Liaison and Admissions Team, do not worry. Please contact our Admissions Team on 0161 631 5050 or at email@example.com, and they will be able to arrange this for you. If the course you have applied for requires an audition, our Admissions Team will be able to inform you of our alternative audition arrangements.
To best prepare you for your studies at College, before enrolment, we have put together resources packs that are available to download from the College website at www.salfordcc.ac.uk/pre-enrolment-tasks. These resources will give you an understanding of some of the skills and techniques you will be developing while studying with us. Please try to work through these resources and bring this work and anything you’ve created along to enrolment. We would love to see what you have done. Do not worry if you are unable to complete all of the tasks. If you need any support, please contact us on 0161 631 5050 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you would like to send us your pre-enrolment learning before enrolment, please email your completed tasks to email@example.com.
The College Bus Service – Bookings for September 2020
We have provided college transport for many years. The bus drops you off outside the College that you are studying at and will collect you at the same point each day. Using the College Bus Service provides you with a safe and direct journey to College with your friends. All of the services are on modern and comfortable coaches and will run every day during term time.
The College is currently working with our bus services provider to ensure that appropriate social distancing and safety measures can be made to ensure our students’ wellbeing. Once arrangements are confirmed, we will open the bus bookings portal for 2020. Applicants will receive a notification about this via email, text message and on the College social media channels.
For further information about the college bus service, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The College Bursary – Applications for September 2020
The Online Bursary Applications will open for applications typically two months the start of the new academic year. Applications will not be processed until you complete your enrolment with us; however, it is good to apply as early as possible. We will communicate this to applicants via email, text message and on the College social media channels.
For further information about the college bursary, please email email@example.com
Arrangements for Enrolment 2020
We are currently in the process of formulating plans for enrolment. We anticipate the enrolment will commence from Thursday 20th August 2020 and will run for an extended period to ensure that everyone can enrol in a safe, organised way that adheres to the current social distancing measures and government guidance.
Additionally, to ensure that everyone can enrol at the College before we commence teaching, the College Leadership is currently reviewing our start date. This is increasingly likely to become Monday 7th September 2020, not the date currently listed on the College website.
We will communicate further information relating to enrolment in due course, via email, text message, the College website www.salfordcc.ac.uk and on the College social media channels.
In the meantime, if you have any questions relating to enrolment, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0161 631 5050 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to welcoming you to the College.
