Football Academy (Vocational)
Introduction

Learn and develop your skills with an exciting partnership between the Manchester United Foundation and Salford City College. The course allows students the opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience, as well as an insight behind the scenes at a Premier League football club.

What will I study?

The course will allow you to develop coaching skills and offers real life work based opportunities. On completion of the course you will receive some of the following qualifications depending on the route you take:
• BTEC National Diploma in Sport Level 2 & Level 3
• Extended Diploma
• 1st 4 Sport FA Certificate in Coaching Football – Level 1 & Level 2
• NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership
• Sports Leaders Award in Community Sports Volunteering
• FA 1st Aid Certificate
• FA Safeguarding Children Award
• FA Coaches Licence

What enrichment will there be?

Activities on the course may include:
• Volunteering in Manchester United Foundation community cohesion projects
• Guest speakers from Manchester United
• Visits to sports stadiums and events
• Opportunities to watch Manchester United play at Old Trafford

What could I do next?

You can gain employment in a coaching role or go on to study sport at a higher level. The course can lead to possible careers in coaching, personal training, leisure centre management, sports tutoring, armed forces and sports event management.

How is the course assessed

You will be assessed continually throughout
the course. There are no exams.
