The Extended
Certificate is equivalent to one A-level and is for those students who are
interested in Health or Social care and wish to develop personal and
professional skills, this course allows you implement care values such as equal
opportunities. When studying this course, it places emphasis on developing
skills as well as academic achievement and you will engage in practical
activities and learn from Health & Social Care
practitioners.

units such as the human lifespan development, meeting individual care and
support, and working in Health and Social Care.

Entry Requirements

For advanced Vocational courses, students are required to have five grade 4s at GCSE, which must include either English or mathematics.

Progression

The Health
& Social Care course provides preparation for a wide range of careers within
the care field including nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social
work and working with children in a variety of settings. Skills gained on these
courses are also transferable to a range of other careers.
