Carpentry & Joinery (Vocational)
Looking to carve out your career as a carpenter and joiner? With a shortage of skilled joiners in the construction industry, this course will give you the practical know-how to set you on your way to a bright future.
You will study up to three days per week in our specially designed workshop that gives you reallife experience in the industry. The course will develop your knowledge in working practices in construction, building methods and construction technology, produce basic woodworking joints, preparation techniques and how to use carpentry and joinery portable power tools.
To study carpentry and joinery, students do not need any prior experience

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Level 1: Basic woodworking joints, hand tools, health and safety, power tools safety and communication.
Level 2: First fix operations, door frames, door linings and second fix operations.

1/2s at GCSE<br/> 4 Ds/3s at GCSE or progression

Progression
On completion of your level 2 qualifi cation, pathways will include a route into a professional construction course or an apprenticeship. Carpentry & Joinery is the perfect foundation to an apprenticeship.
