This course will help you gain a good understanding of the processes and practices organisations must undertake to make key business decisions. You will learn about marketing, human resources, and operational strategies. Management and planning are the backbone to commercial success and a sound understanding of key business concepts are important to anyone aspiring to a career in business. 

Outline

There are two pathways available within our business provision:

BUSINESS & MARKETING:

You will study a range of business, retail and marketing modules with a mix of theory and practical activities, equipping you with the necessary skills to perform well within the business environment.

BUSINESS & CAREER READY:

Alongside theoretic knowledge, you will be given the opportunity to complete a six-week internship as part of your course. 

Assessment:

• Written assessments
• Practical assessments and a portfolio of evidence
• Presentations to staff and students
• Synoptic assessments 

What enrichment will there be?

• Work placements opportunities in large organisations
• Visits to KPMG, PwC, and the Bank of New York Mellon
• Work placement opportunities at prestigious organisations such as ITV, Peel Media, and the NHS 

Entry Requirements

For advanced Vocational courses, students are required to have five grade 4s at GCSE, which must include either English or mathematics.<br/> Intermediate level courses require four grade 3s at GCSE.<br/> Intermediate level courses require four grade 3s at GCSE.

Progression

Most of our students can progress onto Higher Education courses either here at the college or at universities across the country. This versatile qualifi cation allows students to continue their studies in a multitude of areas such as business management, fi nance, or marketing. This course also provides a good understanding of business concepts to assist you within the world of work, whether running your own business or as an employee within a larger organisation.
