Media Make-up for Fashion - Foundation Degree (Level 5)
Based at our University Centre in MediaCityUK, the Fda Make-up Artistry for Fashion course studies a broad range of visual communication tools and related critical contexts in make-up artistry as an artistic discipline.
The course focuses on key creative techniques and concepts ensuring that you can practice as a make-up artist, applying a range of versatile outputs and in consideration of diverse audiences with skill and confidence. You will build skills in make-up artistry as well as core professional abilities, these include skills such as self-promotion, business, hair and make-up practice, art and design, fashion trends, and forecasting in the cosmetic industry.
What Will I study
WHAT WILL I STUDY
You will develop a range of knowledge and experience of key areas linked to make-up artistry, such as the development of concepts using key techniques in art and digital design, awareness of the cosmetics industry and solid experience of professional practice and engagement with industry projects.
The importance of teamwork will be explored through collaborative projects but students will also work independently to develop key skills and personal style in preparation for the industry.

We welcome applications from students who may not meet the stated entry criteria but who can demonstrate their ability to pursue the course successfully. Once we have received your application we will assess it and recommend it for SAES if you are an eligible candidate.
There are two different routes through the?Salford Alternative Entry Scheme?and applicants will be directed to the one appropriate for their course. Assessment will either be through a review of prior learning or through a formal test.
