If you choose to study a patisserie and confectionery course, you may cover:

  • The production of dishes using various doughs, pastry, sponges, biscuits, hot and cold desserts, sauces, fillings and accompaniments, chocolate decorations
  • Learning and developing a vast range of baking and cake making skills including shortcrust, sweet and puff pastry, cookies, shortbread and cupcakes
  • Designing and creating new dishes for The Glass House at Worsley, whilst enjoying the realistic work place of the busy training restaurant
  • Learn exciting and innovative retail aspects of making and selling cake

Progression

This qualification can lead to careers in hotels, restaurants, boutique coffee shops, cruise line job roles, and owning and running your own business. Whereas, the professional cookery and bakery course, in particular, will give you career options that can include bakery operative, patisserie chef, new product development technologist, supermarket chain master baker, artisan bakery owner, and cake maker/decorator. On completion of your Level 3 course, you will have the opportunity to study HNC IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT.
