Are you interested in gaining a broader understanding of mental health? This course focuses on the study of mental health and mental well-being to support different occupational areas and offers breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge and understanding. There will be a particular focus on • mental health legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have evolved• how to support mental well-being through various stages of life• mental ill health, treatment options available and the potential consequences of mental ill health• the skills required to work in a mental health service.

Progression

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress onto a Level 3 in a related field or relevant employment within the health and social care sector

Assessment

It will be assessed internally using a portfolio of evidence.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 qualification in any field. You do not need to be working in this field to undertake this qualification.
