Unit 1: Diagnostic Investigation into Creative Practice. Through a structured programme of activities and workshops, students will investigate a wide range of creative disciplines including fine art, illustration, photography, fashion & textiles, ceramics, graphic design and 3D. Students are encouraged to approach this unit with an open mind.Unit 3: Developing Specialist Practice. This unit will provide students with the opportunity to reflect on the knowledge, skills and practices they have developed in Unit 1 of the qualification and narrow down their practice, working more independently and taking responsibility for the direction of their work.Unit 4: Consolidating Practice. This unit aims to provide students with an opportunity to take control of their own learning and demonstrate their achievement by independently initiating, researching, completing and evaluating a project proposal and realisation within their chosen professional context.

Assessment

Coursework is assessed internally and externally moderated. During the course of the year, students receive regular written and feedback from tutor, in addition to being involved in peer assessment and group critiques.

Entry Requirements

5 x GCSEs at grade 4 or grade C, including Maths and EnglishOne A level or equivalent Level 3 qualifi¬cation, preferably in a relevant creative subject.
