Access to Professions in Engineering (Level 3)

This is a one-year course for students wanting to progress onto careers in Engineering or Physics.
This course is designed to develop a good understanding of engineering, plus develop practical and academic skills required for further HE study.

Outline

During this course you will be building on your existing skills and knowledge in science and mathematics to study physics, mathematics and engineering at an advanced level. You will study the basic theoretical aspects of physics
and engineering and apply them in practical laboratory experiments, problem solving, or research work from different online and printed sources. Additionally, you will further develop your skills and knowledge in mathematics to progress to HE.

In addition to the above, you will also study a number of core skills units which will enable you to develop the academic skills necessary for studying on the Access to HE course and beyond.

Progression

Many of our learners progress to study Physics, Engineering and other related degrees at many universities including at Russell Group universities.

Assessment

You wil be assessed using a variety of assessment methods including reports, written assessments, exams and presentations.

Entry Requirements

5 x GCSE grade C/4 which must include English, Maths and Science or Physics
