Get into Health and Social care
This course is aimed at learners who wish to develop an understanding of health and social care settings before deciding whether to continue study or work in one of these areas.
This course will allow you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment and/or career progression in the sectors of working with children or adults in health and social care.
On the course you will learn about opportunities for work in the health and social care sector and the responsibility that employees have in relation to service users, staff and the organisation they work for. These skills will be related to person-centred care and approaches, upholding the core values and safeguarding service users. You will look at the development of your skills needed for a role in health and social care, and we will prepare you for further study by developing ICT, research and presentation skills
On completion of this course there is the potential to progress on to one of our Health and Social Care and Childcare courses. Should you wish to continue this journey on to university you could study a Level 2 Diploma in a related subject and then an Access to HE courses in nursing, midwifery of social work and Primary Education. ?Possible career choices on successful completion of a Health & Social Care course include nursing, social work, healthcare, midwifery and other professional roles.
The course will be assessed by your teacher using a portfolio of evidence for each module that you have been supported to produce.
Examples of this evidence could be in a range of practical activities such as presentation delivery and role play and written assignment work where leaflets, reports or information booklets will be included.
