Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties
This qualification will be suitable for teaching staff, care staff, support workers or anyone looking to build their knowledge of dyslexia and other learning difficulties. As the course covers all areas in relation to learning difficulties the qualification can be used by a wide range of learners looking to improve their knowledge and awareness in this subject area and would be suitable for those working within healthcare, social care and education contexts already or looking to progress in this specific area of work.
Modules you will cover are the understanding of Specific Learning Difficulties and the effects of those specific Learning Difficulties. You will look at the diagnosis of Learning Difficulties and the role and responsibility yourself and other multi professional teams will have for supporting individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties.
On completion of the course, you have the opportunity to progress on to a Level 2 diploma course in health and social care. This course also provides a strong base for progression to apprenticeships or work.
The course will be assessed by your teacher using a portfolio of evidence for each module that you have been supported top produce.
Examples of this evidence could be in a range of practical activities such as presentation delivery and role play as well as timed assessments and written assignment work where leaflets, reports or information booklets will be included. A clear assignment brief with task activities will support you to provide this evidence to meet specific required criteria.
19–23 will need to have a full level 2 qualification
