Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning has been designed to provide you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments.


You will undertake module subjects such as:
• Understand schools and colleges as organisations Knowledge
• Understand children and young people’s development Knowledge
• Safeguarding children and young people Knowledge
• Support the health and safety of children and young people Knowledge/ Skills
• Support positive behaviour in a learning environment for children and young people Knowledge/ Skills

The module contents cover a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development for differing life stages, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships building. You will also have the opportunity to work in a team to develop a positive learning display and childcare environment.


Level 3 Access to HE or Cache Level 3


The course will be assessed by your teacher using a portfolio of evidence for each module that you have been supported to produce.

Examples of this evidence could be in a range of practical activities such as presentation delivery and role play as well as timed assessments and written assignment work where leaflets, reports or information booklets will be included. A clear assignment brief with task activities will support you to provide this evidence to meet specific required criteria.

Level 1 required with a keen interest in moving into employment in this area
