Hairdressing (Level 3)

Level 3 is ideal if you’ve worked in hairdressing or barbering for some time and want to develop your skills in a specialised area. You might want a broad qualification or to learn a particular technique. The course is a natural progression from levels 1 & 2 and advances high level skills, techniques and knowledge on all fronts. The course focuses on a more in-depth range of industry skills and allows all learners the opportunity to demonstrate high levels of flair, ability and competency.

• The art of dressing hair
• Plait and twisting hair

Progression

Employment as a hair stylist within the sector. Develop one of the key areas within your portfolio and seek self-employment opportunities.

There may also be university routes on a range of hair and beauty related subjects.

Assessment

The course is assessed using observation of practical assessments and completion of a portfolio of evidence including pictures, feedback, criteria completion and witness testimonies. The course also features direct teacher feedback that will also support further development and knowledge. You will also complete theoretical knowledge in short exam based questions.

Entry Requirements

You will need a Level 2 qualification in a related subject (Hairdressing). As well asGCSE English at grade 4-9.
