Hairdressing (Level 2)
If you pursue a diploma in Hairdressing, you’ll learn the skills to succeed in your area. Ideally you will already have some basic skills or ideally a level 1 qualification in hairdressing.
You will develop and enhance existing skills connected with hair services and also learn concepts of salon safety and client protocols.
You will learn through practical sessions, theory based short exams or assignments. You’ll have access to a realistic hairdressing environment with the latest salon equipment and resources where you’ll practise and demonstrate your skills on invited clients and guests. You will also naturally build your confidence and ability under the supervision of expert teachers and coaches.

• Perm and neutralize hair
• The art of dressing hair
• Plait and twisting hair
On completion of the course you will have the opportunity to complete an advanced Level 3 Women’s hairdressing course.
The course is predominantly practical but will contain some theory sessions, short exams and assignments to support the knowledge required. Teachers will use observation of practical tasks and you will also assemble a portfolio of evidence along your journey.
Ideally you will have had some experience in a salon type environment or already have a Level 1 hair and beauty qualification. Level 2 Functional Skills/GCSE in English is also required.
