Access courses are equivalent to three A-Levels. The duration of the course is one year. On completion students typically go directly on to Higher Education. This course is challenging, enjoyable and provides an excellent foundation for those who are interested in studying at degree level in a diversity of areas e.g. business, management, human resources, marketing and various combined degrees. You will receive full support and guidance throughout your studies and will have the opportunity to speak to careers advisors and admissions tutors regarding your options. You should expect to develop sound academic skills which will prepare you for degree-level study.

Progression

Successful completion of the course will enable progression onto various degree courses. Students study a variety of business degree subjects including human resources, marketing, finance, law and management. This course provides an excellent academic foundation. A number of students go on to study at Russell Group universities.

Assessment

In order to achieve this qualification, you must achieve 60 Level 3 credits in a number of modules. Each of the units identified above are 15 credits each.

You will be continuously assessed via a range of methods which include producing essays, reports, presentations and timed assessments. There are no external examinations.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will be expected to have GCSEs in maths and English (or L2 equivalents). Evidence of these must be produced prior to starting the course.
