A very poor performance from Eccles on the road at Burnley. Within the first 10 minutes Eccles were 1-0 down when the defenders left the Burnley winger cut inside and he produced a great curling shot into the bottom corner. It was 2-0 five minutes later when a poor goal kick went straight to the Burnley forward who smashed it in from 20 yards out. Just as Eccles had started to settle and move the ball about, Burnley won a corner and Eccles allowed an unmarked player to nod home from 5 yards out. Eccles changed formation at half time and it allowed for a few more bodies in midfield which allowed them to get on the ball more. This created a few chances going forward with both Dylan Seddon and Alan Kay coming close. Burnley nicked the ball of the Eccles midfield and the forward pulled off the defenders far to easy to turn and finish from 18 yards out. With Eccles pushing to get back in the game Burnley were looking dangerous on the break and took advantage with 10 minutes to go, when a break away allowed them to go 5-0 up. A late push from Eccles allowed them to regain some pride with Zinedine Tietz  grabbing 2 goals after some excellent play from Fayyaz and Dylan respectively.
