Gas Engineering Apprentices at City Skills teamed up to raise money for the Apprenticeship Hardship Fund on National Christmas Jumper Day in December 2021, raising a grand total of £198.82.

The money has now been deposited into the Apprenticeship Hardship Fund was set up by the College to help apprentices who are in need of urgent support, necessities and resources, either to assist with their studies or in their personal lives.

Despite a busy time for employers just before Christmas and with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the keen apprentices still pulled together with the help of Mark Sainsbury, Teacher of Building Services Engineering, and a superb effort by all was made to make sure money was raised for those apprentices less fortunate than themselves.

Allan Milne, Director of Business Development & Apprenticeships, commented: "This is a great example of our apprentice community supporting each other. The fund makes a massive difference for some apprentices who are struggling and every year the apprentices at City Skills contribute. It is fantastic and very generous."
