These courses have a strong emphasis on practical skills development. Students will study at Eccles Sixth Form College, which has recently undertaken significant development via millions of pounds of investment to ensure that our facilities are state-of-the-art. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge in the positive effects of exercise on long-term health and well-being and implementing an exercise plan with the appropriate nutritional requirements. You will demonstrate an understanding of safety factors relating to exercise and apply the principles of a training programme. Modules include: anatomy and physiology for exercise, supporting clients who take part in exercise and physical activity, principles of exercise, fitness and health. Qualifications in this sector can lead to jobs as fitness instructing, personal training, nutrition and health, care assistant, sports coaching, assistant coach, medical assistant, physiotherapy assistant, teaching and teaching assistant.

Progression

You will complete a combination of written tasks, practical activites and exercise sessions.

Assessment

You may wish to develop your skills further by moving onto the next level or specialise in a specific areas of exercise studies.

Entry Requirements

This qualification is designed for anyone with any level of sports ability who is interested in improving performance, enhancing their personal development and gaining understanding of the benefits of exercise and fitness.
