Fundraising Quiz Helps Raise Cash for St Ann’s Hospice
Yesterday’s staff quiz was another roaring success and helped raise an amazing amount for St Ann’s Hospice.
The quiz took place in the brand new, vibrant and modern cafe at Walkden Centre, and was attended by staff from all college centres.
The winners of the quiz were team ‘#Cool’, which consisted of members of the college’s management team. The reigning champions was a team from the Eccles Centre who had managed to keep hold of the ‘winner’s trophy’ for the last two years, so sadly handed over the trophy to the new team winners!
A total of £255 was raised, which will all go to St Ann’s Hospice – a local charity that cares for patients and their families and carers who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses.
Jill Kirkham, Community Fundraiser at St Ann’s Hospice, hosted the quiz that has been running for three years at the College. She said: “The quiz as usual was great fun! Salford City College’s support is invaluable towards the work we do here, and not just financially – the many projects that the students get involved in, including volunteering at the hospice, are also hugely appreciated.”
The next staff quiz will take place in March, so there is plenty of time to watch them extra episodes of Eggheads and The Chase to get your general knowledge skills up to scratch!!
