Did you know you can self-refer for NHS talking therapies without having to go to your GP?

Papyrus is a charity for young people, for the prevention of suicide. They have a phone line and online chat function.

All of the NHS recommended mental health support services.

Including specific help for: self harm, OCD, abuse, eating disorders and relationships.

Campaign against living miserably, is a charity for the prevention of male suicide. They have a webchat and phone line.

SANE: is a virtual community that focuses on mental health for young people under the age of 25.

SANE offer over the phone emotional support in addition to online support and resources.

42nd Street: offer support and advice for young people's to help support them with their emotional wellbeing and mental health. They offer a choice of effective, creative, person centered approaches to young people aged 12-25.

Shout: offer a 24/7 text service which is free on all major mobile networks for anyone who is in crisis, struggling to cope and in need of immediate help.

CALM HARM: is an award-winning app developed for teenage mental health charity stem4 to help you resist or manage the urge to self-harm. You can make it private by setting a password, and personalise the app if you so wish. You will be able to track your progress and notice change

NO Panic: offer support for anyone who is suffering from panic attacks, phobias, OCD and other related anxiety disorders.

Harmless: provide a range of services about self-harm including support and information to those who self-harm, along with supporting their friends and family.

Rethink Mental Illness: offer practical help and information for anyone affected by mental illness, from struggling with their own mental health, to living with someone with a mental illness.

Stem4: is a charity that supports positive mental health in teenagers. They provide information for anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders and addiction, along with staying on track with resilience and well-being tips.

Young Minds is a website providing information and resources for young people who are struggling with their mental health.

TRN connects individuals affected by a mass trauma event to qualified EMDR therapists. TRN's remit is listed below:

1. Mass Trauma - something has occurred to multiple people during a single incident - such as the Black Lives Matter riots or Grenfell.


2. Act of Terrorism - i.e.  London Bridge Terrorist Attacks or the Manchester Arena Terrorist Attack

3. Covid-19 - i.e. symptoms must relate to Covid-19 in some way - such as having to attend a Covid funeral, being ill or having family members ill with Covid, heightened anxiety around Covid

Kooth offer a number of services, but one which lots of young people benefit from is their free, online, text based therapy services.

The Resilience Hub was set up in response to the Manchester Arena Attack in 2017 to co-ordinate care and support for thousands of children, young people and adults whose mental health and/or emotional wellbeing was affected. Since then, we have grown and developed to provide a range of specialist, psychological support services to help people affected by trauma.
Victim Support is here to help anyone affected by crime. Because we're an independent charity, you can talk to us whether or not you've reported the crime to the police. If you want, we can support you without the involvement of the criminal justice system, and we won't contact them about you unless we feel someone is at risk. We are here just to support you.
At Stop Hate UK we recognise the impact that online hate can have on individuals and communities. We work to reduce it and create a better online environment by increasing understanding of how and why it is important to know the harmful effects created by the powerful world of the internet.
