Wednesday afternoon is your time!
In addition to your course of study you can also take part in many additional activities whilst at college. A wide range of sporting activities, performing arts shows, classes and societies are available. Employers and higher education institutions place great value on an applicant’s participation in a broad range of interests and students have the opportunity to make new friends and become fully involved in college life.
Sporting opportunities on offer could include:
Throughout the year our College centres host a variety of lunch time events and activities for you to get involved in. These have included a vegetarian BBQ, Chinese Buddhist celebration, Red Nose Day fundraiser, Halloween event and Jubilee party. These events are a chance for you to unwind, have fun with your friends and raise money for charity.
Students have the opportunity to take additional classes such as holiday Spanish, sign language and driving test theory. These classes can give you extra skills, boost your employability and allow you to meet people on other courses.
For highly competitive career areas, the College organises events, interactive workshops and activities led by industry professionals. These society events can give you the extra edge when applying for university courses. Current societies that are run at one or more of our centres include:
Media & Art Society
Animal Care/Veterinary Society
Contemporary Dance Group
Street Dance Group
We have an LGBT Group (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender) which provides an avenue for students and staff, whether LGBT or not, to meet up on a regular basis and communicate on social media. This Group links with the Local Authority and University of Salford to raise awareness across College.
All sessions are fun, social, and welcome everyone.
