Flower Arranging Student Wins Award
Adult student wins an award for the skills she has learnt in her evening class.
Joyce Allen is a student on the adult Flower Arranging course, which is held at Bethany Community Centre and run by Salford City College. Having never done any flower arranging before, Joyce has had reason to celebrate recently, as she has won three prizes at the recent Todmorden Agricultural Show.
Joyce created a red and white spiral arrangement, in tribute to England performing in the World Cup finals, and won 2nd prize in the Table Arrangement category, 1st prize in the Open Class category and won the coveted prize of Best In Show overall.
Joyce was delighted at her win, not only as she is a recent novice to flower arranging but also as this is the first show she has ever entered.
