Digital Learning Zone
At Salford City College, we understand the need to use digital resources to support and enhance the learning experience. Digital technologies allows us to bring learning to life. Why just look at a 2D picture of the bloodstream when you can travel through it using Virtual Reality? We want to blend the best of traditional face-to-face teaching methods with appropriate digital technologies to encourage creativity and to enable learning at your own pace.
To ensure that you have the best learning experience, we have invested £1.4 million on IT infrastructure and digital resources. In September 2016, each of our centres opened a brand new Digital Learning Zone. These vibrant and modern open plan spaces host an array of engaging sessions whether one to one, small group work, workshops or even general lessons. Our Digital Learning Zones provide you with access to books (some of which have been donated by www.how2become.com, journals and magazines as well as a whole host of online resources.
Becoming a digitally savvy learner will enable you to study 24/7/365 – not being confined by traditional learning environments and allowing more flexibility, being able to upload your assignment to Canvas whilst sat on a bus. Your college learning experience will include sharing and collaborating remotely with others via Canvas, and using your free cloud based Microsoft Office365 account which includes 1TB of storage!
It is our aim to not only create a more engaging and interactive learning experience but also to develop your digital literacy skills to enable you to thrive in today’s digitally demanding world. This will help you to become a more desirable employee, an innovator or an entrepreneur of the future.
