Business & Financial Management - Foundation Degree

This FdSc course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of core business practices central to the operation of all businesses as well as specialist knowledge of financial management. It is aimed at those seeking entry into or career progression into financial management positions.

You will apply your knowledge and understanding to practical projects and the work environment as part of the work based learning module.

Assessment methods include examination (including multiple choice and closed book exams), written coursework, presentations and practical assessments such as observations of work based practice.

Entry Requirements

Please note that the UCAS tariff is changing for applicants entering HE from 2017 onwards. From 2017 we will require applicants to achieve 64 UCAS points. For more information about the new tariff visit

Equivalent professional or academic qualifications (such as NVQ 3) will also be considered please contact Admissions for further information. Applications from those holding non-tariff point qualifications in relevant subject areas (such as work based NVQ 3s) are welcome.

Grade C/4 or above at GCSE (or Level 2 equivalent) in both Mathematics and English are required.

If English is not your first language you should have IELTS Band 6 or equivalent with no element below 5.5. Other equivalent Secure English Languages Tests (SELT) are welcome.

Mature applicants – Appropriately experienced applicants will be considered in line with the University’s Accredited Prior Learning process.
