Beauty Therapy & Nail Services

Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 1

This course will cover the basics of Beauty Therapy treatments. You will get the opportunity to practice your skills on clients and if you complete this level you can progress to level 2.

The course if very practical and hands on and it taught in the college salons. The course is based at Walkden and De La Salle centres.

A beauty kit and college uniform will need to be purchased when starting the course. You may be eligable for financial support from the learner support fund to assist with the purchase of your kit.

Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2

This course is for those that have completed their Level 1 in Beauty Therapy. It develops the skills that have already been covered as well as introducing new treatments.

This course is based at the Walkden centre and De La Salle.

Nail Services NVQ Level 2

This course is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the Beauty and Nail Industry. Career opportunities are available in beauty salons, health clubs, spas or on a mobile basis.
This is a one year, part time, evening course, providing the skills needed for a career in the Industry.

A nail kit and college uniform will need to be purchased when starting the course. You may be eligable for financial support from the learner support fund to assist with the purchase of your kit.

Nail Services NVQ Level 3

This one year course covers a wide range of both theoretical and practical aspects of Nail Services and is ideal for those wishing to be a nail technician. The course will be delivered in the modern well equipped nail studios at the Worsley campus.

You will cover all aspects of nail extensions including acrylic and gel sculptured nails, silk and fibreglass extensions and coloured acrylics.  You will also cover nail art, including 3D embedding (into acrylic or gel), airbrushing and all other aspects to nail art.

The course is assessed by assessments based on practical work, competition work, end of unit examinations and the submission of a portfolio.

A nails kit and college uniform will need to be purchased when starting the course. You may be eligible for financial support from the learner support fund to assist with the purchase of your kit.

This course is based at the Walkden centre.
