Access to Professions in Business & Finance
Access courses are equivalent to three A-Levels. The course lasts for one year and on completion students typically go directly on to a HE course.
This pathway is designed for progression onto programmes with a focus on business management and financial management. The business management modules give you abroad understanding of business concepts, models and methods. The finance modules develop your analytical and problem solving
skills in areas such as investments, corporate finance and financial markets.
Units on this pathway include:
- Business Ideas and Start Ups
- Business Organisations
- Introduction to Marketing
- Business Ethics
- Finance Planning
- Income Statement and Balance Sheets
- Economic Models and Concepts
- Government and Business in the UK
- Business Finance Planning
- Business Accounts
In addition to the above units, you will also study a number of core skills units which will enable you to develop the academic skills necessary for studying on the Access to HE course and beyond.
This pathway is designed for progression onto programmes with a focus on business and related fields including: management, marketing, human resources management and financial management. The College offers a range of foundation degrees and degrees in this area in partnership with the University of Salford.
In order to achieve this qualification you must achieve 60 Level 3 credits in a number of modules. You will be continually assessed via a range of methods which include producing essays, presentations and timed assessments.
