Access to Professions in Legal Professions
Access courses are equivalent to three A-Levels. The course lasts for one year and on completion students typically go directly on to a HE course.
This course is well suited for anyone who wants to progress into a career in law or to study a law pathway at university. This course means you can aim for a graduate entry career. After one year of intensive study you will be able to apply for a degree course.
Units on this pathway include:
- Contract Law
- Employment Law
- Family Law
- Law of Tort
- Police Powers in England and Wales
- The Jury System
In addition to the above units, you will also study a number of core skills units which will enable you to develop the academic skills necessary for studying on the Access to HE course and beyond.
This pathway is designed for progression onto programmes with a focus on business and related fields including: management, marketing, human resource management and financial management. The College offers a range of foundation degrees and degrees in this area in partnership with the University of Salford.
In order to achieve this qualification you must achieve 60 Level 3 credits in a number of modules. You will be continually assessed via a range of methods which include producing essays, presentations and timed assessments.
