Entry to Nursing & Health Professions

This one year course and is equivalent to a full Level 2 qualification. It is designed for those who need to complete a Level 2 qualification (including English and Maths) before progressing onto a Level 3 Access course.

The course is for adults who haven’t completed traditional Level 2 qualifications such as five GCSEs at grade C or above. This also includes adults who may have trained vocationally at a younger age, gone straight into work after school, or who have spent time concentrating on family life.


You will study essential modules, including English, maths, IT and science. The course gives a good sample of a range of academic subjects that you could move onto at Level 3.

You will also experience academic study of:
• Humanities
• Social Sciences
• Health and Science

On completion of the Level 2 course support will be provided when choosing your Level 3 Access pathway.


On completion of the course you will be have the opportunity to move on to one of the College’s Level 3 Access to HE programmes. Pathways currently on offer include Health Professions, Midwifery and Nursing & Allied Health Care. Offers for our Level 3 courses may be subject to an Admissions interview and pathway availability.


You will be continuously assessed via a range of methods which include practical skills assessment and project work, essays and presentations. If you choose to complete GCSEs in English, Maths and Science you will complete summative exams.
