Access to Creative Writing and Media
Access courses are designed to develop a good understanding of digital media and creative art practices, plus develop practical and academic skills required for further Higher Education study.

- Academic Essay Writing
- Developing Research Skills
- Word Processing
- Using Presentation Software
- Applying to H.E
In addition to the above units, you will also study a number of core skills units which will enable you to develop the academic skills necessary for studying on the Access to HE course and beyond.
You will be encouraged to collaborate with staff and peers to push boundaries and explore your own and others’ contemporary practice. You will also study essential modules, including English, Maths and IT to develop your study skills ready for university.
The end of the course will culminate in a final major project and exhibition.
Our students have gone on to study a range of undergraduate creative and digital degree courses after completing the Access programme. Subjects chosen by recent leavers include Games Design, Journalism and Photography, Sound Engineering and Design, Music and Media Production.
The College also offers a range of related foundation degree programmes in partnership with the University of Salford.
In order to achieve this qualification you must achieve 60 Level 3 credits in a number of modules. You will be continuously assessed via a range of methods which include practical skills assessment and project work, essays and presentations.
