Café Fresh Awarded 5* Hygiene Rating Across All Sixth Form Centres
12th February 2015
The ‘Café Fresh’ refectories at Salford City College’s Walkden, Eccles, Pendleton and City Skills Sixth Form Centres have all been given the highest rating for hygiene after inspections carried out by Environmental Health Officers (EHO).
The dining areas at both Walkden and Eccles Sixth Form Centres had already been rated five-star in the past, whilst the refectory City Skills Sixth Form Centre has brought its hygiene rating up to five-star. The College’s newest centre, FutureSkills at MediaCityUK, is still awaiting confirmation of when its first inspection will be taking place.
On behalf of all of the catering staff, Head of Services to Learners Barbara Weilding said: “We are delighted to once again receive 5* grades in recognition of our outstanding hygiene levels in the Café Fresh venues at these Centres. We are always working towards upholding high catering standards, and the EHO inspection results are in recognition of that.”
Salford City College has just launched a new scheme that offers free breakfasts to all recipients of Salford City College Maintenance Allowance (SCCMA), a fund that provides students from low income families with up to £15 per week to spend on the costs associated with attending college, further enriching the learning experience of students across the College.
