All students have the right to feel safe and protected within the College and when taking part in College activities. The College has a responsibility for the welfare and safety of students in our care and we will carry out this duty of care through our teaching, learning extra-curricular activities and pastoral support systems.

The College will ensure that relevant and effective safeguarding and prevent practices exist and these are promoted to students, parents /guardians, colleagues and external stakeholders. Staff and students promote an ethos of respect and high expectations across the College. We are proud to be part of the College community.

We are committed to ensuring that we:

  • Provide a safe environment for young people to learn in
  • Identify young people who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm
  • Are committed to the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Take appropriate actions to see that such young people are kept safe, both at home and at the College
  • Establish clear priorities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Maintain a clear line of accountability and defined roles and responsibilities within the organisation for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
  • Create a culture of listening to and engaging in dialogue with students

If you have any concerns or would like to speak with someone in relation to a safeguarding issue please contact Kimberley Cash, The College Safeguarding Officer on 0161 631 5212
