You are about to become part of a vibrant and exciting college community that is dedicated to your learning and your
future. There are a lot of exciting events that you can become involved in, from fundraisers to trips abroad, aiming
higher societies to the student council.
Fundraisers
Studying hard is important but everyone deserves a break. We host lunchtime fundraisers throughout the year to raise
money for charity but also for you to relax, unwind and spend time with friends.
Trips and Visits
From Yorkshire to New York there are so many trips to be involved with. Recent trips have included:
- Geography trip to Pompeii and Naples in Italy
- IT trip to New York
- Lots of university visits
- Travel and tourism trip to Blackpool
- Law, economics and business visit to Parliament
- Language trip to Spain
Teams and Classes
Each college centre offers a varied programme of activities for you to take part in.
Students usually participate in a weekly game, class or meeting. Activities include:
- Salsa dancing
- Photography
- Football team
- Driving theory
- Basketball team
- Sign language
- Film Club
- Netball team
- Circus skills
- Life drawing
- Volleyball team
Aiming Higher Societies
Salford City College has several societies which are open to all current students, as well as year 10 and 11
school students. They give you the opportunity to learn more about potential future careers, take part in interesting
and fun activities as well as make new friends.
The following societies are currently holding regular events:
- Science Society at Eccles
- Media Society at Walkden
- Veterinary Society at Eccles/Walkden
- Medical Society at Eccles
